I taught a workshop on found footage and hand painting July 29 and 30 at the FAC in Montevideo. A wonderful group (from a professional projectionist in his 60's to a teenager who had no previous experience in film) sat around the table and bleached, painted and scratched on 35mm, 16mm and Super 8 film. We taped the strips to the window overlooking the vibrant street. Later we went to the roof to bleach whole rolls of film and let it dry in the wind-- we could hear the boats in the port a few blocks away.
